Habitability

The widening of main road 6 has already been taken into good account in the current general and town plans, leaving room for construction. Upgrading the road will have only minor effects on the built environment.

The area's habitability and safety will be enhanced, as traffic will be redirected away from the streets onto main road 6.

About 22 kilometres of noise protection constructions will be built as part of the main road 6 project. The number of residents living in the areas affected by noise (over 55 dB) will be reduced, even though the total amount of traffic and number of residents will rise.

The noise protection constructions in the first phase will be either noise barriers, concrete noise railings or noise fences.
